Saline Brow Removal
What is it?
I get questions all the time if I can cover up old brows, botched brows or redo them. I would love to except everyone however, depending on the shape, pigments used, color & saturation, I do turn away a lot of people & will recommend removal to them.
Sometimes this is the best option for clients who want a brand new look!
Saline removal is the process of tattooing saline solution into the skin to lightening your previous work. I use the Saline solution by Li-Ft.
This product helps push the pigment outwards onto the skin during the removal process vs laser removal which pushes the pigment down into the skin. Laser tends to be much more expensive & more painful for removals. I do use a 5% topical numbing solution before your appointment & also during your appointment to try & keep you comfy. However I will say this process is uncomfortable & takes about 30-40 minutes of tattooing to finish the area for brows.
During the healing process your work will lift the pigment outwards, leaving your brows to scab. Scabbing during the healing process of Saline removal is essential. Scabbing will last about 2 weeks long, possibly 3 weeks.
How many sessions will I need?
How many sessions it will take to remove or lighten your brows is hard to predict and depends on many variables.
Many times you can receive amazing results in just 2-3 sessions. However, it could take anywhere from 4-8 sessions to receive the lightning results wanted.
Each removal session needs a full eight weeks in between sessions to fully heal properly. If you have scar tissue forming from your precious work done, we may need to take a longer break in between sessions.
I also provide a service called Emergency Li-Ft Removal, which is done 48 hours after receiving a Brows service. This must be done within 48 hours of your brow appointment the sooner the better for the best results.
Li-Ft is a non-acid, high salt based, fruit seed extract saline removal product. Li chose certain types of natural, clean salts in combination with each other in very specific percentages to achieve ultimate lightening & results. These special salts are then ground down to a very fine powder eliminating any grit and allowing quick and easy implantation.
The other key ingredients that make LiFT so effective are:
Lemon Seed Extract & Orange Seed
Extract. Both Lemon Seed Extract & Orange Seed Extract are very effective in fading and exfoliation, the combination of the two are a powerful force to be reckoned with.
Aloe Vera for skin conditioning & to aid the skin in healing.
Sterile Water is used in all Li Pigment formulations.
Saline Removal Aftercare
Clean by blotting the area with saline wound wash solution 3 to 4 times a day using a paper towel or gauze.
Do not get the area wet until all scabs have naturally fallen off (Includes showers, sweating, hot tubs, saunas & steamy showers).
Do not pick, rub or scratch the area. All scabbing needs to fall off naturally. If you force or pick a scab off you will disrupt the process & possibly cause scarring. It is critical to keep the scabs on as long as possible to achieve optimum results.
Avoid direct sunlight for at least 14 days (Includes tanning beds).
No makeup, lotion or face wash directly on the area until all the scabs have fallen off.
Once all the scabs have naturally fallen off, apply one drop Vitamin E Oil 3 to 4 times throughout the day for a minimum of 4 weeks, or until next lightening session. DO NOT start applying the Vitamin E oil UNTIL all scabbing has naturally & completely fallen off. It is our goal to keep the area as dry as possible until all scabs have naturally fallen off.
Reminder - It is important to the process & integrity of the skin that 8 full weeks of healing take place before another session can be done.
