Lip Blush

What is it?

This is the process of infusing pigment to the lips to create a perfectly shaped, natural looking blush to your lips. Cover blemishes or irregularities in lip color.

This does not make the lips fuller as injectables would, but they will look slightly bigger as we enhance your vermilion border. Perfect for those who want a defined lip shape, fullness and symmetry.

After the lips are done, the immediate look is not the final color end result. The lips appear much brighter and vibrant than the healed results will be. You can expect your lips to heal about 50% lighter.

Healing takes 7-10 days but it varies from client to client and depending on their skin type. Swelling subsides within 24-48 hours.

Lip blush does require a 6-12 week touch up appointment. After this so-called perfecting session is complete your lip blush should last you 3-5 years until needing another session to maintain the color and shape.

Please exfoliate daily and moisturize your lips one week prior to your appointment.

IMPORTANT NOTES - COLD SORES

You MUST understand that if you have EVER in your life had a fever blister, or a cold sore/herpes, you MUST take Zovirax, Famvir or Valtrex or other anti-viral pre and post procedure to help prevent the outbreak of cold sores. There are NO exceptions to this rule! If you do have an outbreak, it will usually occur on the third (3rd) day following your appointment. This rule holds true for each and every time you have any amount of lip blush done. You will need to call your physician in order to obtain your prescription strength anti-viral medication.

Taking preventative medication is a MUST the day before, day of and the day after (and possibly longer) after your appointment as a potential outbreak can occur as the skin’s natural reaction to the procedure. If you experience frequent outbreaks, please note that Lip Blush can only be done after 4 weeks from your most recent outbreak. All other questions or concerns regarding medications and outbreaks should be discussed with your healthcare physician. If you haven’t had a cold sore/fever blister/herpes it is still HIGHLY recommended to take Lysine pre/post appointment as you can still unknowingly carry the herpes virus and not have an outbreak yet.

ALL PERMANENT COSMETIC PROCEDURES REQUIRE 2 SESSIONS.

During your 6-12 week follow-up we can assess your pigment retention and make any adjustments needed. This follow-up also increases the longevity of your Permanent Cosmetics.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Color Boosts

This is only for my clients who missed their 6-12 week touch up session.

Annual Touch Ups

Annual touch ups are only for my past clients! This is typically done 3-5 years after your touch up session or when they’re 50% faded. Send me photos of your lips before scheduling a touch up session to see if they’re faded enough. If you have PMU done by another artist and would like to book with me, you will be charged the first session price. Please send me photos of your lips up close and full face to determine which service is best for you.
